Emergency Care for Internal Veterinary Emergencies

Not all emergencies are visible. Sudden changes in breathing, neurological episodes, or vomiting may signal serious internal problems that require immediate attention. At GVETS, our emergency team is trained to manage and monitor a wide range of internal veterinary emergencies when minutes matter.

We are the only overnight emergency veterinary hospital within 60 miles of Watkinsville. We are equipped to treat critical internal conditions and provide ongoing care throughout the night.

Conditions We Treat

Our hospital provides after-hours emergency treatment for serious internal crises, including:

  • Dog seizures and neurological episodes
  • Breathing difficulties or respiratory distress
  • Diabetic emergencies (low or high blood sugar)
  • Vomiting, diarrhea, or signs of GI distress
  • Heart failure or fluid buildup
  • Collapse or signs of systemic illness

We stabilize and monitor each patient and coordinate next-day transfer to your regular veterinarian or a specialty center as needed.
